The workshop will focus on inner dynamics of the human figure. Seeing the relationship between gesture and structure with an emphasis on quick poses.
Learn to “read” poses and respond or connect with the action
NOEL THURGATE is a 2017 ARCHIBALD FINALIST as well as a drawing teacher with more than 25 years experience, including 9 years as Head of Drawing, the National Art School, Sydney.
Since 1975 he has exhibited in numerous solo and group exhibitions including the Young Contemporaries, the Archibald Prize and the Kedumba Drawing Prize. He is represented in State, Regional, Institutional and many private collections. Noel currently teaches part time at the NAS.

What to Bring
Plenty of sheets of cartridge paper for quick short poses (size A2 or A3). Backing or support for max A2 paper. A variety of inexpensive brushes (Bunnings have a wide and affordable choice).
Optional: easel or table top easel
Please bring your own lunch (or 10 min walk to food shops)
