A drawing investigation for the structure of the head and how features of the face relate to the forms of the skull.
Composition, scale, placement, cropping and lighting will be covered.
About Noel Thurgate
Noel Thurgate is a 2017 ARCHIBALD FINALIST as well as a drawing teacher with more than 25 years experience, including 9 years as Head of Drawing, the National Art School, Sydney.
Since 1975 he has exhibited in numerous solo and group exhibitions including the Young Contemporaries, the Archibald Prize and the Kedumba Drawing Prize. He is represented in State, Regional, Institutional and many private collections. Noel currently teaches part time at the NAS.

A2 cartridge paper for quick drawing and max A2 watercolour paper (e.g. Stonehenge for one longer pose)

Sanguine colour aquarelle
Block rubber
Selection of cheap brushes in various shapes and sizes
Ink (and container)
Soft cloth
Optional: easel or able top easel
